Lloyd Kaufman Part 2

I sent an e-mail to Lloyd Kaufman yesterday letting him know that I'd be contacting Josh about a schedule and thanking him for responding. Lloyd (it's Lloyd now) sent me an e-mail today with the reply:

"Let's make movie magic!"

We are soooo excited for the opportunity to have LK in The Bunnyman.

Brush With Stardom

Yesterday I sent an e-mail to Lloyd Kaufman (director of such independent classics as The Toxic Avenger series and Kabukiman NYPD) asking him to play Old Man Roberts in our movie. When Jason and I were watching the Make Your Own Damn Movie series, we found out that Lloyd Kaufman appears in low-budget movies for free as a way to help out burgeoning filmmakers.

I sent him a hard copy of the script through the mail awhile back, but never heard anything. Then, yesterday, I found his website that has his e-mail address to contact him about being in films and whatever other nonsense people want to ask him.

He wrote back today that "I would love to act for you." He gave me his assistant's (Josh) e-mail to contact him about scheduling. He ended the e-mail with "Thanks a lot and good luck! Xo LK"

So perhaps some good things are on our horizon.

Keep your fingers and toes crossed.

Bunnyman Auditions

We had auditions today at the Groveland Library for The Bunnyman.

The day went ok, because a lot of people scheduled didn't show up, and we didn't have a lot of people show up that fit all of the parts we have.

We had one good prospect for Sheriff Hooper. His name is David Scott and for his audition he came up with an original monologue as Hooper. He ended it with "...a man as evil as Cotton Peters." It's a big deal to us because Hooper as a line in the movie referring to Cotton Peters as "Evil, pure evil." and he hasn't even read the script. It's like kismet or something.

Don't have a lot of prospects for Jayme, though. There was one actress, who sort of reminds me of a young Meg Ryan, so she'd be good for Jayme, but she's also the only one who showed up who's willing to take her top off, so right now she's our top choice for Kat or Lita.

Black Market Kidneys Premire

We had the BMK screening today. Scotty Schultz and Catherine were the only ones from the cast and crew to show up. So kudos to you to. Debra Sussman was the only one who had an excuse cause she's currently appearing in a play.

The Artimoviches showed up, once again showing up like a heavy metal hurricane. They came to the first and best screening, sat right up front. I could hear them making comments about the movie, like how real the guts in the opening credit sequence looked, and they'd chuckle when they saw how we changed the geography of the house around. It's for people like them that we made this movie for. During each screening I was pacing the back room, wearing a rut into the carpet.

Things went well. We had a great turn out for our first screening, and no advertising.

BMK Production Day 5

We were finally able to get back into the house to film.

Things went well, much better than the other times we filmed in Le Carpathian.

We got some really great takes and are thankful once again that it worked out we were able to get Debra Sussman because she's much better than the other actresses.

We stayed around for a long time after filming just talking, so it's late. I'm tired. And going to bed.

BMK Production Day 4

We went back to Le Carpathian to finish filming. The power isn't back on, but it's been off for over a month and there was no sign of it coming back on, so we decided to go ahead and see what we could do. The moment we got there, Mike said the power is going to be turned back on tomorrow. We tried filming some stuff, but ran out of light and decided to come back in some other time and do it right since the power is coming back on.
